Jackson Discusses Police Use of Tasers in Asbury Park Press

While Tasers can prevent the use of deadly force, they are seldom used by police officers in New Jersey. Skeptics cite the number of fatalities. Jenn M. Jackson, assistant professor of political science, acknowledges that Tasers can benefit police, but stressed that they have also killed many. "There are absolutely instances where using a Taser can help in lieu of other options that are more violent and more harmful and more life threatening.
