In the News: Jackie Orr

The 2022 One University Awards were held Friday, April 22, in Hendricks Chapel. The annual event honors members of the Syracuse University community who are making a difference through academics, scholarship, creative work and dedicated service.

Jackie Orr, associate professor of sociology, contends that the duties of the civilian-soldier extend to outer space, as well: that "final, fantastic frontier for the U.S. military's imaginary and material battlefields."

Jackie Orr, associate professor of sociology, was named Laura J. and L. Douglas Meredith Professor of Teaching Excellence. The professorship was created to recognize and reward outstanding teaching at the University.
