Maxwell’s Schwartz and team secure DOE grant to study school choice
“This excellent team offers an exciting opportunity to make real progress in reducing achievement gaps for disadvantaged students by identifying ways to increase access to high-quality education,” says Amy Ellen Schwartz, Daniel Patrick Moynihan Chair of Public Affairs. She is part of the team that received a five year, $10 million DOE grant.
Strasser Professorship deepens alum’s philanthropic legacy at Maxwell
A new, $3-million philanthropic commitment from alumnus Joseph Strasser will create a permanently endowed and named professorship in public administration at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University, while also building on a legacy of giving that places Strasser among the most significant Maxwell donors of all time.

Maxwell students Marcus Lane, Taj Harris receive Clements Awards
Tajanae (Taj) Harris '20 B.A. (Anth) and Marcus Lane '19 B.A. (PSt) received the the Mark and Pearle Clements Internship Award, which enables Syracuse University students to undertake unique internships that wouldn't be possible without financial help.
Local Influence
The new mayor, Ben Walsh '05 M.P.A., highlights the number of alumni in Syracuse city and Onondaga County government.

Gerry Cramer was the perfect friend of the Maxwell School - generous, visionary, and ultimately trusting. Cramer passed away on February 13, 2018.

Kutcher receives graduate faculty recognition award
Maxwell students receive Fulbright UK Summer Institute grants
Kevin Treadway, a freshman history and political science major, and Janaisa Walker, a sophomore policy studies major, have been named as student cultural ambassadors through the U.S.-U.K. Fulbright Commission’s U.K. Summer Institute program. Treadway will travel to Wales to study Welsh identity and nationhood at Aberystwyth University, while Walker will study at the University of Westminster in England, in a program focused on developing leadership skills for a global age.
