Bio

Amy Lutz is an associate professor of sociology, chair of the Social Science Ph.D. Program and a senior research associate in the Center for Policy Research. She conducts research on children of immigrants, families and educational inequalities.

Lutz recently coauthored a book on mothering during the COVID pandemic, entitled “Mothering in the Time of Coronavirus” published by UMass Press.

Amy received a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Albany in 2002.
