Curto’s Peace Corps experience featured in hometown press
February 18, 2020
A recently completed Peace Corps assignment in Morocco, by Adriana Curto ’16 BA (CCE/IR), was featured last month in the Highlands Current, a print and online news outlet serving a set of towns in the Hudson Valley (from which Curto hails).
In the article, Curto explains how she’d entered the Peace Corps to improve her Arabic language skills, and to serve an interest in the Arabic Middle East and North Africa she developed as a freshman at Maxwell. While at Maxwell, she also spent a semester in Istanbul and later worked as a volunteer for five weeks at a refugee camp in southern Lebanon.
Embedded in the Highlands Current article is a video, made by Curto, as a “final letter” to people she’d met in Morocco.
