On Monday, President Donald Trump announced that he fired Defense Secretary Mark Esper, amid lingering tensions between them. "You’re trying to have as seamless a transition as possible. Don’t do things that make the system more chaotic," says Mark Jacobson, assistant dean for Washington programs at the Maxwell School. "Our enemies are going to take note of that, they know that now is a particularly vulnerable time." Jacobson was quoted in the Foreign Policy article, "Trump Fires His Embattled Pentagon Chief by Tweet." 11/10/20
