Singer becomes executive board chair at BrainScope

Michael SingerMichael Singer ‘86 MAIR has been named executive chairman of the board at BrainScope, a company developing assessment devices for brain-related injuries that can be used remotely.

Singer was previously the CEO of BrainScope, a position he has held since the company was founded more than a decade ago. During his tenure, BrainScope won eight research contracts for the Department of Defense, developed the first FDA-cleared traumatic brain injury product, and conducted over 20 clinical studies. He is also credited with guiding BrainScope through its 120 issued and pending patent applications and 28 peer-reviewed publications.

BrainScope’s primary mission is to improve the rapid, objective assessment of brain-related conditions using integrated assessment capabilities, artificial intelligence, and digitization. Headquartered in Bethesda, Md., they have twice won the GE-NFL Head Health Challenge and were twice nominated for the Prix Galien Best Medical Technology.

In addition to his new position at BrainScope, Singer has also been on the board of directors at four other health and medical device companies. He has also served as a member of the Maxwell School’s Advisory Board.
