Kurian Thomas ’11 EMPA was appointed vice president of spiritual transformation by the Fetzer Institute on July 1. In his new role, Thomas is responsible for overseeing more than 60 spirituality projects covering topics including education, health and well-being, and democracy. He will also contribute to the organizational learning and culture at the institute. Based in Kalamazoo, Mich., the Fetzer Institute promotes spirituality and harmony by providing philanthropic resources in collaboration with partners across the United States and the globe.

Before joining the Fetzer Institute in 2011, Thomas was responsible for program quality and accountability with Oxfam in Hong Kong. He is also currently a fellow with the Council on Foundation’s 2019 career pathways leadership cohort.
