Schnitzer promoted to president and CEO of CIRI

Susan Schnitzer ’91 B.A. (Econ/PSt) has been named the president and CEO of the Connecticut Institute for Refugees and Immigrants (CIRI), a nonprofit that advocates for and supports immigrants, refugees and survivors of human trafficking across Connecticut. In her new role, Schnitzer will help CIRI grow and diversify.

As an advisory board member, Peter O’Neil ’91 B.A. (IR) will help guide Mission 500 and help the charity extend both its message and its ability to fulfill its mission. Founded in 2016, Mission 500 works closely with partners across the security industry in order to encourage corporate social responsibility.

Noel made chief partnership officer at after-school program provider

Rigaud Noel ’04 B.A. (PSc) has been appointed chief partnership officer by New York Edge, an after-school programming provider working across New York City’s metropolitan region.  In this expanded role, he will serve as part of the organization’s executive leadership team and help guide its efforts to build and grow partnerships, to help increase funding for after-school programming, and to increase private and grant-supported development revenue.

Iron Mountain stores and protects billions of assets, ranging from highly sensitive data to cultural and historical artifacts in more than 1,450 facilities around the world. They designated Barry Hytinen ’97 B.A. (PSc) as an executive vice president and the chief financial officer, who brings over two decades of corporate finance experience.

Rossman appointed to California’s wildfire board

Rhoda Rossman ’82 M.P.A. has been appointed to the California Catastrophe Response Council by Governor Gavin Newsom. The council is responsible for overseeing the California Wildfire Fund, which contains $20 billion in capital liquidity earmarked for paying uninsured destruction due to wildfire damage.

EMPA student Phillip Cady appointed Oswego police chief
