Susan Schnitzer ’91 B.A. (Econ/PSt) has been named the president and CEO of the Connecticut Institute for Refugees and Immigrants (CIRI), a nonprofit that advocates for and supports immigrants, refugees and survivors of human trafficking across Connecticut. In her new role, Schnitzer will help CIRI grow and diversify.

Adriana Curto ’16 B.A. (CCE/IR) explains how she’d entered the Peace Corps to improve her Arabic language skills, and to serve an interest in the Arabic Middle East and North Africa she developed as a freshman at Maxwell. 

Jonathan Schwabish ’02 M.A. (Econ)/’03 Ph.D. (Econ) discusses strategies researchers can use to communicate their work in both traditional and digital media in his new book "Elevate the Debate."

Kishauna Soljour ’16 M.A. (Hist)/’19 Ph.D. (Hist) has received a distinguished dissertation award from the Council of Graduate Schools/ProQuest. Soljour’s dissertation analyzed the dissonance between French policies of acculturation and the lived and embodied experiences of Afro-French residents since the conclusion of the World War II.

Ekin Senlet ’08 J.D./M.A. (IR) has been elected a partner of Barclay Damon. She focuses on regulatory issues in the energy industry across New York state.

As an advisory board member, Peter O’Neil ’91 B.A. (IR) will help guide Mission 500 and help the charity extend both its message and its ability to fulfill its mission. Founded in 2016, Mission 500 works closely with partners across the security industry in order to encourage corporate social responsibility.

Michael Crow ’85 Ph.D. (PA), who was appointed president of Arizona State University in 2002, was recognized for his long-time commitment to increasing environmental sustainability within higher education by the National Council on Science and the Environment (NCSE).

Maria Isquierdo ’90 M.P.A. has been named the chief human resources officer at Bryan Health, a regional nonprofit healthcare system operating throughout Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa and Missouri. In her new role, Isquierdo will lead employee recruitment and retention across the Bryan Health system.

In this new position, Michael Bucci ’95 M.P.A. is responsible for developing communications strategies serving the organizational interests of his clients.

In his new role, Artyom Perevedentsev ’10 M.A. (Econ), will focus on expanding hotel investment opportunities into cross-border and other alternative markets.

Rigaud Noel ’04 B.A. (PSc) has been appointed chief partnership officer by New York Edge, an after-school programming provider working across New York City’s metropolitan region.  In this expanded role, he will serve as part of the organization’s executive leadership team and help guide its efforts to build and grow partnerships, to help increase funding for after-school programming, and to increase private and grant-supported development revenue.

Iron Mountain stores and protects billions of assets, ranging from highly sensitive data to cultural and historical artifacts in more than 1,450 facilities around the world. They designated Barry Hytinen ’97 B.A. (PSc) as an executive vice president and the chief financial officer, who brings over two decades of corporate finance experience.

To counteract anti-American reporting, the Middle East Broadcasting Networks' role is “to expand the spectrum of ideas, opinions, and perspectives available in the [region’s] media,” says MBN's senior vice president Nart Bouran ’89 B.A. (IR). 

A play adaptation of Mike Stanton's '79 B.A. (PSc) book "The Prince of Providence" about former Providence Mayor Buddy Cianci has opened to rave reviews at the Trinity Repertory Company in Providence, with plans for Broadway and a movie.

 “I want to pass on as much as I can from my own experience in local NGOs to the next generation,” says former Humphrey Fellow Dee Moskoff '15 M.P.A., who offers internship opportunities in South Africa as the director of the nonprofit Connect Network.

Edward Uechi ’08 MPA has written Public Service Information Technology: The Definitive Manager’s Guide to Harnessing Technology of Cost-Effective Operations and Services (Productivity Press, 2020). Uechi's book explores the complex intersections between various areas of information technology management.
