Reeher Quoted in Governing Article on New York Gov. Kathy Hochul

Though New York Governor Kathy Hochul won reelection in November 2022, it was by a narrow margin. And last week, Hochul's pick for the state's top judge, Hector LaSalle, was rejected by the state Senate Judiciary Committee.
But Grant Reeher, professor of political science and director of the Campbell Public Affairs Institute, says the governor of New York possesses too much formal power to think about writing her off. “She has an enormous amount of power in the budget,” he says, “and that’s the thing that’s coming up next.”
